Make it fair.

Fair Employment Week (FEW) is taking place from October 16 to 20, 2023.

FEW is CAUT’s annual event designed to raise awareness about precarious employment on campus and to support your local association’s organizing efforts to improve the working conditions of contract academic staff (CAS).

For FEW, we encourage academic staff associations to organize visible local actions. Previous local FEW activities have included tabling, circulation of op-eds, and open letters to institution presidents. Members interested in getting buttons and posters for tabling should contact Anne-Marie Roy, Senior Organizing & Education Officer, at [email protected]

As part of FEW activities, CAUT is organizing a social media day of action on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. On this day, to amplify the voices of contract academic staff, we encourage members to use our new customizable social media material templates

Should member associations want to set up digital campaign tools for social media actions, letter-writing campaigns, or petitions, we invite you to contact Anne-Marie Roy, Senior Organizing and Education Officer, at [email protected].

This year, FEW will conclude with CAUT’s Contract Academic Staff Conference. We encourage associations to support their members’ participation in the conference. For more information on the Contract Academic Staff Conference please consult: Contract Academic Staff Conference | CAUT

If you have any questions or would like support in your organizing and campaign planning efforts, please contact Anne-Marie Roy, Senior Organizing & Education Officer, at [email protected].
